We trace our roots to Martin Luther, a church reformer in the sixteenth century in Germany. Luther believed that God’s grace in Jesus Christ is at the heart of the church’s faith and life. Everything we receive from God is a gift, from our daily bread to our eternal salvation. Thus, grace is at the center of the Lutheran way of being a Christian. This fundamental, core conviction has shaped the Lutheran Church for the last five hundred years. The Lutheran Church today is a global church with over 70 million members around the world.

Bethlehem was founded in 1951 and dedicated our first sanctuary in 1953. The congregation has grown in many ways since then. At the heart of our life together is the conviction that God is, above all, a gracious God and that we are called and sent to be God’s gracious presence in the world.
