First Baptist Church has a rich 150 year history of being a part of the Poplar Bluff community. We believe that God has strategically placed us here to be a light and the hands and feet of Christ. We understand that the church is not a building but a people. It is not an organization but a growing organism. We long to follow God’s call to continue to grow as we seek to reach more people with the gospel. Our prayer is that we will be a part of something that we cannot explain but all we can do is say, “It’s ALL God!” Our prayer is that people will not be drawn to this place because we offer excellent programs but because the Spirit of God is in our midst. We long for people to leave here each week having encountered the One True Living God! We pray that if you come to worship King Jesus with us that you will have a God encounter and your life will never be the same.

Sunday Morning | Classic Worship 8:30 AM
If a traditional style of worship is your preference, then the 8:30am worship service will suit you. It includes the Adult Choir with hymns and choruses accompanied by piano, organ, and orchestra.
Sunday Morning | Connection Groups 9:45 AM
From preschool to senior adults, you’ll find a connection group thats just right for you and everyone in your family. Each class takes the timeless truth of God’s Word and brings it to your life for application in today’s world. You’ll also meet friends for life – people with common needs, people who will encourage you, rejoice with you, pray with you and share life with you.
Sunday Morning | Contemporary Worship 10:30 AM
If you prefer a more contemporary style of worship, then you will find the 10:30am worship service with a live praise band in a more casual, informal setting along with drama, media, and other creative elements.
Wednesday Evening | Activities 6:00 PM
Wednesday Evening activities may include a church wide fellowship meal during the school year as well as Wednesday Night LIVE discipleship classes for ages 2-12, Frontline Youth Group for Junior High and High School Students and various Adult Classes.
