River of Life Baptist began with a vision from God given to Rev. Donnie Humphrey in 1989 as he sat at a red light in Jonesborough, TN. He felt that Jonesborough would be the location of the church. God had other plans as the Holy Spirit led them to the Piney Flats area.
The vision became a reality on August 4, 1991 as the church had its first service in the Piney Flats Community Center.
River of Life is a fundamental, Bible believing church with proclaiming the gospel as found in Mark 16:15 " Go ye into all ther world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
