Denomination: Uniting Church in Australia
We are a small, but steadily growing, child-friendly, multicultural congregation in a rapidly developing new area. We aim to be truly faithful to Christ in ways that are appropriate for Australia in the 21st century. Our worship centre is a multi-purpose building, which is used by a variety of community groups during the week, and for worship in Fijian and Myanmar as well as English on Sundays, so it is always changing. We usually sit in a circle for worship, and half our congregation are children. Every week there is someone new - many in our area are a long way from extended family, including recently-arrived migrants. Our regular programs include Sunday School, Playgroup, Youth and Adult Discussion Groups, Bible Study groups, Children's Club and July Holiday Club, as well as social events for all the family. We are also growing our partnership with the local Community Centre, so we may more effectively care for those in need in our area. This is an exciting time to be in ministry!
