About Countryside Covenant Church
Who We Are:
We are a Christ-centered Church that is Growing in the Grace and the Truth of Our Lord Jesus Christ as we encounter God through His word and worship, strengthen families through intentional relationships, build disciples by investing in others and serve together with our spiritual gifts.
What We Believe:
We belong to the Evangelical Covenant Church which traces its origins to a spiritual revival that took place during the last century. Our tradition reflects the Reformation, stressing worship, prayer, teaching and studying of the Scriptures, conversion, and outreach to our local and worldwide community. For Covenant people, our essential beliefs are summed up in what we call Covenant Affirmations:
We affirm the necessity of the new birth. For us, faith is more than knowledge about something. It is a vital relationship with Jesus.
We affirm the centrality of the word of God. The Bible is the sole authority in the church. Biblical preaching, Bible studies and Bible classes abound.
We affirm the Church as a fellowship of believers. As a child of God, you belong to His family and to ours. Relationships are one of the best places to live out our Christian faith.
We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ. We live the way we do out of love for Christ. We respect the freedom to differ in many areas not essential to our salvation.
We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit. It is God’s Holy Spirit who is the agent of our new life in Jesus Christ.
We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the Church. The task of missions, both home and abroad, is an important expression of a commitment to serving our Lord.
