St John the Evangelist at Bishop Thornton, North Yorkshire is a friendly Christian community where we welcome others to join us in our worship and service to God. Our emphasis is on learning and understanding the Bible and following the example of Jesus and his followers.
The vision of St John the Evangelist is to make an impact for God, here in Bishop Thornton, North Yorkshire by helping people understand the enriching messages of eternal hope given to us by Jesus Christ through His words and deeds. Come just as you are - we'd love to get to know you better.

Sunday
Holy Communion
A modern language Communion service.
Every first and third Sunday at 10:45 AM for 50 minutes
All Age Worship
An informal service, normally including elements of art, craft, meditation, discussion etc. Also the service of choice for baptisms in Bishop Thornton.
Every second Sunday at 10:45 AM for ¾ hour
Family Service
An informal service intended to be accessible to all ages.
Every fourth Sunday at 10:45 AM for 40 minutes
United Benefice Service
On 'fifth' Sundays, all five of the churches in our Benefice meet together to share worship. Unfortunately for visitors, this service rotates around the Benefice churches, so seek local guidance where possible!
Every fifth Sunday at 10:45 AM for 1 hour
